The Willamette Valley Soaring Club will be holding our 2025 Alvord Safari this year from Saturday, July 19 through Saturday, July 26. Come and enjoy a week of soaring at our desert encampment on the Alvord Desert dry lake bed. This trip provides the opportunity for auto-tow launch experience and endorsement. Unlike a winch launch, gliders are launched using a 4000 foot long wire pulled by an automobile. This method is very successful and also very economical at only $15 per tow. The Alvord dry lake bed in July offers some of the best soaring conditions in the Northwest.
